Summer yay!

Tue May 26, 2009, 9:59 AM
Tis summer......insects are massing.......they keep me awake at night......those bastards. Caught a 5cm moth last night in a jar.

Anyway yes 5th year architecture has finished and i can now paint.....although its been nearly 2 years since i painted so i'm not going to be too good at it anymore [not that i ever was]. I'm going to start again tomorrow and i'm looking forward to it.

I really want to get onto living now, studying for so long is now getting on my nerves, working in practise is a completely different animal to university and to be honest you learn more. Uni isn't a good working enviroment, the hours well everything tends to blur into one. I was getting probably 3-4 hours sleep a night for weeks on end. You have no idea how good it is to actually sleep for 8hours, its better than sex. in fact on the day i finished i went to bed and slept for 27hours. God it was good.

It was my birthday yesterday. Parents bought me a cake that feeds 40people from asda cost about £8 so its big and nasty tasting. Only problem is everyone has gone home so i've got to eat the damn thing by my self.

So yes, tis time to paint......oh did i tell you that 2/3 of architects in the north east and possibly the rest of england have been laid off. Yay hardly anyone has a job. Yay!!!!!!!

Weeble and Bob

Mon Mar 23, 2009, 12:55 PM
First night off in quite a while

Many years ago I was told there was this brilliant show on MTV. I think the word used was random.

The name of the show was weeble and bob and it suddenly popped into my head after completing half life 2. I'm not sure why half life 2 reminded me of weeble and bob but it did.

So I went onto youtube and watched around 10 short clips................are people simple or am I
getting old. I didn't find them in the least bit funny or 'random'

I don't know why its made me so angry.

Bugger it all to hell!

CODMW was most good, most good indeed Johnathan. Nice quick game that kept my interested and wanting for more.
Fallout 3 was brilliant until I decided to do the main quest.
Mass effect I just can't get into it. They do some of the best rpgs out there but i just can't get over how bad the team mates A.I and player controls are and its really putting me off it now.
Dawn of War II........Relic hmmm relic have made some good games, probably some of my favourite. I admit I liked the fact it was squad based and wargear orientated, it brought it back to the table top game and I do love the old analogue game. But where was the story? I wanted betrayal, some sort of twist. There were only 4 story style levels........ :( something that the first one did very well.
Left For Dead: Thanks to a healthy modding community and new levels its kept my friend and mines interest for when architecture gets too much and we just need to kill something for an hour

Haven't really spoke to anyone in a long time other than my flat mate, I've just surrounded myself with architecture and the odd computer game here and there. Its made me very dull i'm afraid so I would be most greatful for any conversation. Hm better go eat.

Its not going to happen any time soon

I thought i would have time to paint but my course is getting in the way, It will be next summer before i start again then again I'm not sure, next year is the design dissertation. I can't seem to think about anything but architecture now.

I wake up at 8am start work at 8:30 then finish at midnight just a 30min break for dinner and my tea, I didn't honestly think I'd be doing this again but it looks like i am.

A bit of advice for anyone finishing college or high school who wants to be an architects.

1. You will earn the same amount as a call centre worker at the end of it all- that isn't a joke don't believe careers advice centres.
2. you will work too many hours and not have an alternative life
3. You need to know everything but it also means you know nothing properly. For example i'm learning animation along side urban design.
4. Its a minimum 8 year course and you will work more than any other subject will and the pay off for it is tiny. I'm now in 5th year
5. Its frustrating when you work so hard and get so little in return.
6. Everything you ever do will be crit and you will present to an audience all the time and have your work pulled to pieces.
7. you will spend the majority of your time fixing things, not designing.
8. If you screw up a design or something goes wrong even if it isn't your fault then you will hate yourself: as a designers you feel its your responsibility
9. Its very difficult to sleep at night because you can't stop thinking.

Having said that when you make something that works and will last its the greatest feeling imaginable. You are changing peoples lives with it and this validates the point of the sadist-masochist life you've chosen however you'll age very quickly.

If you aren't passionate about architecture to begin with don't worry you will be eventually or fail.

Piggy Adventures part 5

People who stop me losing it

See below in lit for the eariler adventures. I just write these on the spot.

The Adventures of little piggy part 5

I fear yesterdays tomorrow will be my last and the fruit loops are no longer swing from my hip like so many jiggly jelly babies. Wait numb nuts has noticed something, that stupid 32k devil bot……..something I didn’t….. Its misshapen its gears and its falling the wrong way, I’m hurt at the fact I’m less of a candy apple than I thought. Frell Kitte’s dancing on the white wash fence I’ve not white wash for the past 5 years………….

I'd often sit in the garden with my lungs turgid with scarlet and conjecture
‘will I ever whitewash my used sock coloured fence again?’
Carrots and peas fill my mouth when I burp and the smell overwhelms a passer by inquiring to the blare. It squirts out my snout like an over sized spot and all over my foe as he bounds. Kitties wired and eyes up the devil bot. He begins to quicken its pace from one fence to the next. Hop, skips and jumps. No kangaroo would give him less than 10 for that performance! But the devil bots hot on his appendage and I can’t do a do but timepiece him knocking over the luminous cans of rat treasure, smash through the walls of perverse steel and take out all those drunk en’s in the pub next door as they weigh up who has the biggest toes nails. A sight I’d longed to behold as the dust filters up my nostrils and comes out as a heavy cough of the stew that set up camp in my mouth earlier.

Why did they want kitty my abhorrent friend and what was I to do but lie here and listen to my breath shriek through my teeth. I took care of two devil bots, hopefully kitty wont have much trouble with numb nuts, that’s all that matters now.

I want piggy to inscribe too me and tell me he’s eaten something strange.

A piggy caped crusader appeared by the back gate with a bonnet emotional attached to it looking rather smug at the milieu.

‘You frig you stole my typewriter, where the hell is it ya stinky pig! And what happened to the corporal realm you said you'd got lost in?’............'you ate it....well do you have a plaster so i can filler this hole where my stomach was?'.
